Four Gone Confusion on Sunday 16 March 2025
***************************************************************************** Alan Higgins It is with great sadness that we heard of the death of our legendary friend and musician Alan Higgins on 16 February 2025 Alan, depite his hearing difficulty, was a brilliant blues musician & a real character. Over the years he played at both the Ruskin House Folk & Blues Club & the Rhythm & Blues Club. In 2015 despite his ill health he organised a concert at Ruskin House to raise money for the Parkinson's Charity. Alan had been living in Swansea for some years now and his funeral is therefore being held there. Details of this are listed below Garry & Tina & the Folk and Blues club family send their sincere condolences to his brother Geoff and the rest of his family. Farewell Alan you have left us with great memories. The Croydon Folk and Blues Club meets every
Sunday evening from 8:00 at Ruskin House, If you
would like to play at Ruskin House on a Sunday, prepare about five numbers
and make yourself known to Garry when you arrive. If it's busy and you're at
the end of the line, you may not get on till late. We have started to use
amplification, but the acoustics are good and unplugged is plenty loud
enough. The adjacent Cedar Room,
which we use for large-scale events, has full PA facilities (and a bar). In
the summer we often have a barbeque on the huge patio. |
